Adobe creative suite 6
Adobe Creative Suite 6 (CS6) 2012 update to its software line for design and creative professionals brings new versions of all the most notable products: Photoshop, lllustrator, Dreamweaver, Premiere Pro, Flash, and more. Some of the best improvements to the package are under the hood, with better performance and speed, although a few apps visually look different, too.
Other improvements suggest that Adobe has its eye trained on the specific problems digital designers face in terms of porting content to a variety of platforms and formats, like the iPad, and smartphones.
CS6 Highlights
Here is an
overview of some notable changes in the most popular applications in
Adobe CS 6. For more about each individual piece of software, click on
its name.
Adobe Photoshop CS6 : Darker Interface
The new Photoshop CS6 default interface color is a
darker gray than the traditional interface, but you can switch this
back if you prefer the old way, or choose an intermediate shade.
Adobe Photoshop CS6 : New Camera Raw
Now all the sliders are set to zero at the start, as in Light room 4, which uses the same camera raw converter though in a different guise.
Adobe Photoshop CS6 : Lens Profile Correction
The new Camera Raw tool can correct photos for geometric distortion, vignetting, and chromatic aberration based on the lens used. In this test photo, Photoshop CS6 was able to remove some purple fringing from tree twigs in the corner of the image.
Adobe Photoshop CS6 : New Crop Tool
Crop is the most used tool in Photoshop, and crop
tool now selects the whole image by default, letting you decide where
the crop should start. It also lets you straighten the photo and offers
overlays for Rule of Thirds, Diagonal, Golden Ratio, and more. But as
with most new features, you can revert to the old way if you like.
Adobe Photoshop CS6 : Dotted Lines
One of the most-requested features in Photoshop has been dotted lines: They're here now, and with lots of control.
Adobe Photoshop CS6 : Content Aware Move
One of the real magical new tools in Photoshop is
Content-Aware Move. This lets you select an object and move in while
preserving the background.
Adobe Photoshop CS6 : Video Editing
Formerly only available in the Extended edition,
video editing has come to Photoshop standard edition. And it brings some
impressive video editing power, along with the ability to apply all of
Photoshop's still image adjustments to video clips—including exposure,
cropping, filters…you name it. Photoshop is even capable of multitrack
and key framing, using the same fast rendering engine that powers Adobe's
Premiere pro video editor. But only a few transition options are
available—all variants of fades. Each video track you add becomes a
Photoshop layer that can be individually adjusted.
Adobe Photoshop CS6 : Render Video
Movie files are saved as .PSDs, but by choosing File|Export|Render Video… you can create a video file with H.264, QuickTime, or DPX encoding. You also get a decent choice of resolutions, including 720p and 1080p HD.
Adobe Photoshop CS6 : Adaptive Wide Angle
This new tool lets you draw line on distorted wide
angle shots to correct their geometry. It can also simply apply a focal
length correction.
Adobe Photoshop CS6 : Blur Gallery
This new tool isn't just about adding blur to your whole photo, but about applying hot effects like selective focus and "tilt-shift," which gives images a miniature look.
Adobe Photoshop CS6 : Content Aware Patch
Also in the realm of magic is the new Content Aware Patch. Don't mistake this for a mere blemish remover, which any self-respecting photo-editing app includes. Content Aware Patch actually lets you remove objects from a scene. I was able to convincingly remove a person in the background while preserving the grass, trees, and sky in the image.
Adobe Photoshop CS6 : New Curves
Auto curves now shows you what the program has done, giving you a chance to fine-tune.
Adobe Photoshop CS6 : Erodable Brushes
Photoshop CS6 includes new "erodible" brushes, that run out of paint
Adobe Photoshop CS6 : New Text Tools
Multiple language characters—Arabic, Japanese, and Russian, for example. It also now offers paragraph sytes, and a new Type main menu.
